Telematics Workshop in Lusaka: Escort Sensors & Wialon

Fuel costs are rising, and fleet visibility is more critical than ever.

This hands-on workshop is designed for system integrators who want to build effective telematics solutions for fleet monitoring and equipment control. Participants will learn how to install and configure Escort fuel and tilt sensors and connect all data to the Wialon telematics platform for real-time fleet monitoring.

Using a concrete-mixer fleet as a practical use case, the workshop will demonstrate how GPS, fuel level, tilt/roll, ignition, and engine-status data can help detect fuel theft, idle time, unauthorised use, rollover risks, and equipment misuse.

9:30 – 10:15 AM Use Case: Concrete‑Mixer Fleet Monitoring

Overview of the full solution, Escort TD-BLE fuel sensor, Escort DU-BLE tilt sensor, and Wialon telematics platform. The session will show how the system helps prevent fuel theft, equipment misuse, tilt and rollover risks, and unauthorised vehicle use.

10:15 – 10:45 AM Escort Sensors: Deep Dive

Detailed introduction to Escort TD-BLE fuel level sensor and Escort DU-BLE tilt and rotation sensor. Participants will learn about BLE connectivity, thermal compensation, installation principles, mobile app setup, health checks, calibration, chassis mounting, angle and roll monitoring, mixer mode selection, and zero calibration.

10:45 – 11:30 AM Telematics Integration

Focus on the GPS hardware and its integration with Escort BLE sensors. The session will explain data acquisition and sensor settings, and forward it to the Wialon platform.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM Wialon: Fleet Management Platform

Introduction to Wialon as a fleet management platform that unifies GPS, fuel level, tilt and roll, ignition, and engine-status data. Participants will see how Wialon supports fuel analytics, idle-time monitoring, tilt and rollover-risk alerts, night-parking misuse detection, custom reports, dashboards, and alert configuration for concrete-mixer fleets.

12:30 – 1:30 PM Lunch & Networking Break

Buffet lunch, informal networking with partners, and access to the demo zone.

1:30 – 3:30 PM Hands-On Workshop

Practical session covering Escort sensor installation, app connection, calibration, and filtration tuning, device mounting, configuration, and sensor integration. Participants will then work with Wialon to create units, map sensors, monitor real-time data, generate reports, and validate live scenarios such as fuel drops, idling, tilt events, and unauthorised use.

3:30 – 4:00 PM Results & Q&A Panel

Showcase of key results from the hands-on session, including fuel-loss alerts, tilt events, and idle-time reports. The session will conclude with a Q&A panel featuring Escort and Wialon experts.

4:00 – 5:00 PM Closing & Next Steps

Final recap of the workshop benefits, including fuel-cost reduction, improved safety, fewer rollover incidents, and reduced insurance claims. Participants will also receive partner contacts, discuss follow-up meetings, and explore business opportunities.
