On August 6, Nairobi (Kenya) hosted a practical telematics workshop organised by Escort Monitoring Systems, Howen Technologies, and Horizon IoT. The event gathered integrators, fleet owners, and telematics enthusiasts to explore how smart fuel and video monitoring technologies help businesses reduce costs and improve efficiency.
The central theme of the workshop was advanced fuel and video monitoring solutions for fleets integrated with fuel level sensor TD-BLE, dashcam Hero-ME40-02 V3 . Participants learned how to:
- cut fuel losses with Escort’s high-precision wireless fuel sensors,
- increase visibility and safety with Howen MDVR solutions,
- integrate multiple systems through Horizon IoT’s expertise.
A highlight of the program was a live demo on a mining industry vehicle. Attendees saw in real time how fuel sensors and dashcams are installed, calibrated, and connected into a single monitoring system. The demonstration showed how the solution enables efficient fuel control and smarter video storage – eliminating the need for hours of continuous recording by capturing only event-based video footage.
The workshop sparked active discussions on local fleet challenges in Kenya, where high fuel prices and risks of fuel theft put significant pressure on businesses. The showcased solutions gave participants practical tools to optimize fuel use, prevent unauthorized machinery operation, and improve transparency.
More events and hands-on sessions are planned across Africa – so stay tuned and don’t miss the next opportunity to join.
