Escort Monitoring Systems, together with Wialon and Horizon IoT, successfully held the Fuel Monitoring & Cost Control Workshop: Real-world telematics and fleet management use cases in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The full-day hands-on workshop took place on 19 February 2026 at Marriott Executive Apartments and brought together 120+ participants, including system integrators, technical specialists, fleet management professionals, and companies interested in expanding their telematics service portfolio.
Practical knowledge for real fleet challenges
The workshop combined expert presentations, real-world use cases, and hands-on technical practice. During the theoretical part of the day, specialists from Escort Monitoring Systems, Wialon, and Horizon IoT shared practical experience from completed fleet monitoring projects and discussed typical challenges faced by system integrators in the field.
The experts presented real use cases involving fuel level monitoring, cost control, fleet visibility, and the application of BLE-based sensors in transport and logistics projects. Participants learned how different technologies can be combined to solve common operational issues, improve data accuracy, and help fleet operators make better decisions based on reliable telematics data.
A key highlight of the workshop was the practical session with a live installation on an actual vehicle. Participants had the opportunity to observe the full integration process, discuss technical details with experts, and see how sensor data is transmitted and configured in the Wialon platform.
The hands-on part included:
- Escort fuel level sensor installation
- Escort tilt angle and axle load sensor integration
- GPS tracker connection
- Basic Wialon configuration
- Report setup and analytics using real sensor data
This format allowed participants to follow the complete workflow – from equipment installation and sensor integration to data analysis and fleet performance reporting.
Strong engagement and positive feedback
Attendees actively joined discussions, asked technical questions, and shared their own experience from local fleet monitoring projects.
The high level of interest and active participation throughout the day confirmed the growing demand for practical telematics expertise and reliable fuel monitoring solutions in the Ethiopian market.
Escort Monitoring Systems thanks all participants, partners, and co-organizers for their contribution to the success of the event.
We are proud to support system integrators and fleet technology providers with practical expertise, proven sensor solutions, and real-world implementation experience across global markets.
